My name is Maggie and I live in the beautiful countryside of North Wales. For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by dyes and dyestuffs and even as a child endeared myself to my mother by attempting to dye all my underwear yellow with gorse flowers! I have refined my techniques over the years and use my skills and experience to create the wonderful rainbows of colour that you can see in my unique designs.
All my wools are hand dyed and although this is a much more labour intensive process, it enables me to create and produce a rainbow of fabulous colours, both strong and muted shades but without the harsh 'chemical' tints that result from the use of industrial and synthetic dyes.
Drawing my inspiration from the glorious landscapes around me, along with designs and colours seen in my travels around the world, I have created a collection of tapestry kits which I hope will inspire and enthuse you with both a love of natural dyes and hand crafted tapestries. All my kits come with full instructions and all the elements you will need to complete each project, including wool, canvas and needles.
The dyes I use are colour and wash fast and all 100% natural. My wool is spun and wound for me by a small mill in Cornwall from sheep bred and nurtured in the UK. I will be exhibiting at a number of venues around England and Wales, and you can purchase any of my designs online using our safe, secure website.
